Tundra Vietnam Fund is Scandinavia’s first actively managed equity fund with a focus on the Vietnamese stock market.
Tundra has once again assumed a pioneering role in exploring more inaccessible equity markets. With 90 million people, an average age of 28.5 years and labour costs one-third of those in China, Vietnam is emerging as an important new manufacturing centre in Asia, which is an important step towards increasing future prosperity, and something that several other Asian economies have done previously. In spite of restrictions on foreign ownership, the country’s stock market is one of the most liquid frontier markets in the world. Vietnam has expressed an intention to gradually open up the stock market to foreign investors, which may increase interest. Combined with good potential for high economic growth in the coming years, this makes Vietnam a natural element in a frontier market portfolio. Like all frontier markets, the risk is very high and only investors with an investment horizon of at least 10 years should invest in the fund.
