Jon Scheiber is CEO and partner at Tundra Fonder. Jon has over 15 years of experience from the financial industry, of which more than 10 years as an emerging market-specialist. He joined Hagströmer & Qviberg in 1997 and held several positions at the firm, including analyst and portfolio manager. During a period, Jon was also a credit analyst at Citibank. In 2006 he took on the role as portfolio manager at one of Denmark’s leading asset managers, BankInvest. During the following years he managed several funds at the Copenhagen based firm, including the Asia and Global Emerging Market funds. Jon has a M.Sc. Economics and Business from Stockholm School of Economics, CEFA and studies in Economics and Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, the London School of Economics and Political Science and Stockholm University.Jon joined Tundra in 2013.
Mattias Martinsson is a portfolio manager and partner at Tundra Fonder. Mattias is one of Scandinavia’s leading emerging market pioneers. He began his career at the former HQ Ryssland (later HQ Emerging Markets) in 1996, first as an advisor and analyst and then as head of the department. Mattias left HQ Bank in 2006 to instead set up a subsidiary to HQ Bank, Väring Capital, a fund management company that launched Sweden’s first hedge fund focusing on emerging markets, and among other things, was the first Swedish fund company to trade local Pakistani shares. Mattias has a University Diploma in Social Science from Lund University and is one of the founding partners of Tundra Fonder.
Antonia Gibson is the Chief Operating Officer at Tundra Fonder. Antonia began her career working with investor relations and sustainability at Swedbank AB and continued as Head of Investor Relations and Communications at HiQ AB. Prior to joining Tundra, Antonia was Head of Compliance at the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund. Antonia has studied business at Stockholm School of Economics at master level and two years of law at Stockholm University’s law school. Antonia joined Tundra in May 2018.
Mathias Althoff is a portfolio manager and partner at Tundra Fonder. Mathias has been active in emerging markets almost 20 years from different positions in the financial industry. In 2000 Mathias joined HQ.SE (later Avanza Bank) to organize and established the international equity trading. In 2004 Mathias took on the role as Asia specialist at HQ Bank in the Emerging Markets-team to broaden and enhance their focus on emerging markets. As manager of Asian Equities Mathias closely followed the fast development in China and the impact its growth has had on other emerging markets, especially in Africa, as well as the rest of the world. In 2006 Mathias further expanded the business when trading in Africa was established. Mathias also worked at Carnegie Investment Bank following their take-over of HQ Bank in 2010. Mathias has a Degree of Master of Science in International Business and Economics from Uppsala University. He joined Tundra in March 2013.
Muhammad Shamoon Tariq is a portfolio manager and partner as well as responsible for Tundra’s research office in Karachi. Prior to joining Tundra, he was as a sell side Research Analyst at Optimus Capital (a brokerage house in Pakistan). He has extensive experience as an analyst and has covered all the major sectors listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange. Shamoon is a CFA charter holder and joined Tundra in December 2013.
Duc Nguyen is an Advisor at Tundra Fonder’s office in Vietnam. Duc has been working with the Vietnamese equity market since 2007 through various positions. Before joining Tundra, Duc was working as Director of Institutional Brokerage at Ho Chi Minh City Securities. Prior to that he has held positions at Sacombank Securities and ACB Securities. He holds an MBA from Liverpool John Moores University and joined Tundra in March 2016.
Imran Ahmed Patel is an senior analyst at Tundra Fonder’s Karachi office. He has several years of equity research experience in Pakistan’s equity market. Before joining Tundra, Imran was working as a sell-side research analyst at Global Securities Pakistan Limited, where, he was responsible for covering Automobile, Fertilizer and Power sector companies listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange. Imran holds a BBA Degree in Finance from SZABIST, Karachi and is a CFA charter holder. He joined Tundra in June 2015.
Mubashir Zuberi is an analyst at Tundra Fonder’s Research office in Karachi. Before joining Tundra, Mubashir was working as an analyst at MCB Arif Habib Savings & Investments, where he was covering the midstream and downstream oil sector, materials sector and Pakistan’s economy. He is a CFA charter holder and holds a BBA Degree in Finance from SZABIST, Karachi. Mubashir joined Tundra in September 2015.
Jennie is Head of ESG and partner at Tundra. She holds a PhD from Karolinska Institutet. Her earlier working experience is mainly from different research institutes, the most recent one as researcher at the City Council’s Centre for Epidemiology and Community Medicine (CES), and the Department of Public Health Sciences, Karolinska Institutet. Jennie has extensive experience from collaborations between research and external partners in business, governmental and non-profit organisations. Jennie joined Tundra in October 2015.
Maryam Mughal is a ESG research analyst at Tundra Fonder’s Karachi office. She also volunteers as an advisory board member of an anti-corruption initiative lead by youths from seven countries, ‘Youth Movement for Transparency – Asia Pacific’. Prior to joining Tundra, Maryam was associated with Transparency International Pakistan, a national chapter of the global coalition against corruption, where she managed the advocacy and legal advice centre for almost four years. Maryam has worked at Surridge & Beecheno, a leading intellectual property law firm in Karachi and has worked as a journalist at the newspapers The News International and The Express Tribune in Pakistan. She has an LLM in Corporate Finance. Maryam joined Tundra in April 2015.
Chau Le is a ESG research analyst at Tundras office in Ho Chi Minh City. Chau has a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Utrecht in the Netherlands. She has also studied Criminology at University of California, USA and interned for the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University, the Netherlands. Chau joined Tundra in September 2018.
Malin Almgren is an ESG researcher at Tundra’s Stockholm office, involved in building an international network to strengthen academic and business partnership for sustainable investments. She holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Stockholm University and a Ph.D. in Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet, where she conducts parallel research on stress and the environmental impact on health. In addition, she has worked with gender issues in close collaboration with the departmental management. Malin has long experience of international collaborations and has in addition worked as a researcher at the University of California, USA. Malin began at Tundra in May 2018.
Mats-Olof Engarås is responsible for business development & institutional sales at Tundra. He has a long and solid experience from the financial sector. Prior to Tundra, Mats-Olof worked in Carnegie Asset Management as a Client Executive for a number of large institutional equity mandate. Before joining Carnegie, Mats-Olof spent 12 years at SEB in various business roles. Initially he served as a fixed income and currency dealer and then as institutional sales in equity derivatives within the Merchant Banking division. After six years in the Trading & Capital Markets area Mats-Olof started as an Investment Director, responsible for the units large fixed income mandate within institutional clients at SEB Asset Management. Mats-Olof started his career as a credit analyst at Swedbank. Mats-Olof studied Business and Economics at Karlstad University. Mats-Olof joined Tundra in June 2014.
Simon works in Administration at Tundra Fonder. Prior to Tundra, Simon worked as a tennis professional in New York and Boston. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2016 with a Bachelor in Business Administration, concentration finance. Simon joined Tundra in July 2018.
